This case study highlights the power of prioritization, testing, meaningful measurement, and continuously applying learnings over time to drive scalable growth through a long-term partnership. Rather than relying on short-term wins or isolated tactics, sustainable growth came from disciplined decision-making, iterative optimization, and building a stronger program year after year.
The Results
Over the course of this partnership, the paid media program grew from roughly $1.09M in annual revenue in 2020 to more than $6.7M in 2025.

As a high-value ecommerce business, scaling efficiently while maintaining profitability was critical to the client’s long-term success.
That growth was not driven by a single breakthrough. It was the result of years of strategic expansion, ongoing optimization improvements, stronger data infrastructure, and disciplined scaling.
Key milestones included:
Expanding into additional products and markets
Launching campaigns across new countries and ad networks
Transitioning from basic network conversion optimization to offline conversion tracking
Improving bidding and optimization through richer historical data
While growth varied year to year based on market conditions and expansion initiatives, the long-term trajectory consistently moved upward as the program matured.
The Challenge: Scaling Efficiently Within Budget Constraints
One of the biggest challenges throughout the partnership was balancing growth opportunities with budget limitations.
Like many businesses focused on profitable growth, the client could not test every expansion opportunity at once. That required a disciplined approach to prioritization and investment.
Early on, we focused heavily on the audiences and campaigns most likely to drive profitable outcomes. Rather than scaling aggressively too quickly, we concentrated on maximizing return from available spend through refined targeting, stronger bidding strategies, and ongoing optimization.
At the same time, we recognized there was additional opportunity available beyond the initial program scope.
As campaign performance improved and profitability became more visible, the client gained greater confidence in paid media investment. That allowed the program to gradually scale while continuing to maintain efficiency goals.
Instead of chasing growth at any cost, the strategy centered around proving profitability first, then expanding strategically once the data supported additional investment.
Key Drivers Behind Business Growth
Expansion Into New Products
As the client introduced new offerings, we developed dedicated campaign strategies for each launch while applying learnings from existing campaigns.
Historical performance data, audience insights, and proven messaging frameworks helped newer product launches scale more efficiently over time. Expanding the product portfolio also created additional opportunities to reach new audiences and diversify revenue streams.

Expansion Into New Countries
As domestic performance strengthened, international expansion became a natural next step.
Rather than launching broadly all at once, we expanded strategically into new countries over time. Early launches helped inform localization, audience targeting, budget allocation, and performance expectations for future rollouts.
This phased approach allowed campaigns to gather sufficient optimization data before scaling further and ultimately became an important contributor to overall account growth.

Expansion Across Additional Ad Networks
Diversifying across ad networks also played a role in scaling the program.
As core channels matured, we expanded into additional platforms to reach users at different stages of the funnel and reduce reliance on any single network.
Each platform required tailored creative, targeting, and optimization strategies, but together they created a more resilient acquisition program capable of driving incremental growth across multiple channels.
Smarter Optimization Through Better Data
One of the most impactful improvements came from strengthening conversion tracking and optimization capabilities over time.
Early in the partnership, campaigns ran on manual bidding with keyword level bids. As smart bidding was developed and evolved, we were able to leverage Google’s AI capabilities to expand into new audiences and improve efficiency. Campaigns relied on network-reported conversions for optimization and, while useful, that approach limited the control we had over the quality of data being fed back to the campaigns.
Over time, we transitioned toward offline conversion tracking, allowing campaigns to optimize toward a custom subset of actions we wanted the campaigns to learn from. This resulted in significantly improved lead quality.
As historical conversion data accumulated, optimization became increasingly sophisticated. Larger datasets enabled more informed bidding decisions, stronger performance targets, and more reliable machine learning optimization.
That compounding effect became a major driver of long-term growth.
The Takeaway
This partnership demonstrates that sustainable paid media growth rarely comes from a single tactic or short-term wins.
Instead, long-term success comes from continuously improving strategy, optimization, data quality, and campaign execution over time.
It also reinforces the importance of a strong, collaborative partnership between the client and marketing team. Open communication, shared goals, ongoing testing, and mutual trust helped create an environment where learnings could continuously compound into long-term, sustainable growth.
